The Gavin Foundation is a multi-service non-profit agency founded in South Boston in 1963. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals in recovery by providing addiction prevention, treatment and support through the Gavin charities. Through program expansion we now serve over 5,000 men, women and children of all ages each year. These programs include the AAWOL Program, Center for Recovery Services, Charlestown Recovery House, Cushing House Boys, Cushing House Girls, Devine Recovery Center, Gavin House, the Graduate Houses, TIP, Phoenix House Quincy, Speakers for Hope, and the Walsh Community Center. The Center for Recovery Services offers outpatient addiction treatment for men and women, with an adolescent program developed especially for school-age youth. We also provide addiction counseling as an alternative to incarceration for adults and youth in multiple court systems. The Cushing House programs provide residential addiction treatment in a home-like environment for adolescents and serves an average of 100 adolescents per year. Recognized as a leader in evidence-based substance abuse treatment services for young people, in 2007 the Gavin Foundation partnered with Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) and Boston Public Schools to open Massachusetts' first recovery high school, William J. Ostiguy High School.
