ARC House is the original project and flagship of the agency, and has been in continuous operation since 1976.
ARC House is a 15-bed certified residential substance abuse treatment facility for women who are referred by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
The facility is licensed as community-based residential facility. Women served by ARC House have substance use disorders and are at a high risk of re-offending.
The treatment program is three to six months, with a six-month follow up in the aftercare group.
All clients receive women-specific program services that address substance use disorders and criminality.
There is an emphasis on addressing trauma, including physical and sexual abuse, unhealthy or abusive relationships, physical and mental health problems, anger/stress management, employment and money management, living skills, child custody and mother and child reunification issues.
The services are delivered through individual and group sessions with treatment staff.
Women progress through a stage system earning additional privileges in the community as they achieve treatment plan goals.
ARC House staff consists of a Program Manager, Substance Abuse Counselor, Social Worker, two Case Managers, as well as a full-time and part-time overnight and weekend staff.
